There are many websites and memorials to our brave WWII veterans, and at least one devoted to “Rosie the Riveter,” but none devoted to the women who stayed at home and prayed each day for their loved one’s safe return and who turned to quilting to help with the tension or make a contribution to the war effort.

Just as our veterans are dying at an alarming rate, so are their spouses and even their children.  Soon the people who know the story behind these quilts will be gone.  The goal of this website    is to increase the body of knowledge of stay-at-home women during  WWII and their patriotic quilts and textiles.
